You need a good system that ensures the drainage of the yard is optimal. A constantly wet garden is a perfect ground for mold, moss, and mildew growth. Ensure the garden is appropriately graded to ensure it does not get eroded over time. There are different ways of keeping the plants looking healthy with no soggy or muddy spots. Installing a drainage system

Dig 1-foot wide, 3-foot deep holes at those drainage locations. Scoop the sod off before you start to dig.
Remove the surface grass, start from the wet areas and work towards each of the drainage holes. Make the line one foot wide and repeat the process for each wet area.
Excavate soils along each line as you dig to a depth of 10 inches to form trenches.
Scoop the soil out of the trench to make a slope from the wet area to the dug drainage holes. The slope should be 1/4 inch for each 4-feet. Confirm with a 4-feet level.
Add 2-inches of sand and gravel mix to the bottom of your dug trenches. The materials allow water to flow freely. The sand fills the large gaps to prevent the soil from working its way into the area.
Place 4-inch diameter perforated pipe in the dug trenches with the holes facing down. Place slip mesh sleeves over the perforated pipes so that soil, sand and other small debris don’t clog the holes.
Fill the sides of the pipes and the top part with sand and gravel mix. Add the materials to a 2-inches height above the pipe.
Add 2-inches of sand above the grave to bring the trenches back to surface level. Place your sod back over the sand.
Add more gravel and sand mix to the drainage holes until it is atop the trench where the 2-inches of sand starts. Add 2-inches of sand before placing the sod on top.
